Peace out Apple

peaceoutnapoleondynamite

As I continue to get off Apple's ecosystem from removing my data off iCloud and moving to Linux, today was a big day, I sold my Apple hardware.

Apple is not the same company as it used to be and many of us know this. I am sad that this day came for me but I'm not the first or last long term Mac user to move away. Not only did I dislike the UI design of the new operating systems but also the daily functionality of how I use a computer.

Some Apple users, young and old, are fine adapting or learning to use their hardware but I continuously got frustrated. From the restrictions of not installing open source software to using the Finder for file actions. After 25 years, I quit.

I've used Linux many times but never committed to it due to the old used hardware I experienced it with and knowing I could just go back to my Mac. But as I change my life to be offline more and seeing how my tech hobby has changed so much, there really is no reason to give Apple more money. I don't want to spend money on new Apple hardware and accessories. If there is one or two things that make it easy for my family, for example the AppleTV, then I'm good with that. But not for my every day computing.
